(For Friday Favorites we spotlight past recipes that you may have missed, and this turkey breast cooked in the slow cooker is delicious.  Turkey always goes on sale at Thanksgiving, so it's a perfect time to try this recipe.  And if you're only cooking Thanksgiving for a few people, you might even want to use this for the big day!)

Turkey breast is a healthy option but it can be tricky to get it cooked perfectly without the meat drying out.  In this post about How to Cook a Turkey Breast in the Crockpot from Kalyn's Kitchen, using a slow cooker keeps the breast meat moist and browning the turkey first and then cooking it with carrots, celery, onions, and turkey or chicken stock provides great flavor.  There are also instructions for making South Beach Diet friendly gravy for those who are interested.

I could be wrong but I believe adding carrots to it would make it NOT SBD phase 1 friendly...

Wafflegirl, you don't eat the carrots; they are just to flavor the broth.
