|Ideas from food bloggers for corned beef in the slow cooker!|
Introducing Classic Recipe Collections, a new feature for Slow Cooker from Scratch! It didn't take me long after I started bookmarking great slow cooker recipes to realize that there were certain classic dishes that get made over and over again in a CrockPot, with each cook adding their own individual touches. I decided the best way to include as many of these tried-and-true slow cooker recipes as possible was to occasionally do a round-up of five assorted recipes for the same dish from different bloggers. And of course St. Patrick's Day is coming this week, so it seemed like slow cooker corned beef was the perfect place to start!

The photo above is my own Corned Beef with Veggies and Horseradish Sauce, something I've made for many years in the slow cooker. I'll be making that again this year, although these days I'd probably make Roasted Cabbage with Lemon instead of cooking the cabbage in the slow cooker.

This Dijon Corned Beef in the Slow Cooker from A Year of Slow Cooker has a paste of honey, brown sugar, mustard, and cloves rubbed on the meat before it cooks all day in the slow cooker.

Stephanie also has Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Vegetables at A Year of Slow Cooking, which she assembled the night before and then cooked the next day. If you have two slow cookers, you could make her Roasted Cabbage and Vegetables and cook the veggies separately.

There's a little bit of Guinness added to this Crock Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage from Slender Kitchen. Kristen does serve this with cabbage, but she cooks it separately so the cabbage will keep some crunch. (This recipe has WW points calculated.)
|Slow Cooker Corned Beef (Photo from The Merlin Menu.)|
This Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage from The Merlin Menu uses partly apple juice along with water to cook the corned beef, which I think sounds like a great idea! When it's done the meat is spread with a mixture of brown mustard and brown sugar and browned under the broiler.
Are you cooking corned beef and cabbage in your slow cooker for St. Patrick's Day? If you have experience with this dish, we'd love to have you share any tips or your recipe link in the comments.
