Slow Cooker Instructions for Making Bacon Jam from Morsels and Musings

Bacon adds amazing flavor to so many things, and for times when you want just a little bacon flavor this Slow Cooker Bacon Jam from Morsels and Musings sounds like an intriguing idea.  Smoky bacon cooks in the slow cooker with garlic, onion, brown sugar, a dash of hot sauce, coffee, vinegar, maple syrup, and a sprinkling of black pepper.  Once the flavors are all combined into an amazing blend of goodness, you simmer it on the stovetop to reduce the liquid and give the jam a few pulses in the food processor.  Bacon jam stores in the refrigerator, and Anna gives a few fun suggestions for ways to use it.

I have a feeling that the next generation is going to look back upon this bacon thing the way we look at the jello's and aspic's from the 40s.

You could be right about that. This is probably not for everyone, but I do like the idea of using just a small spoonful to flavor vegetables.
