Slow Cooker Asian Pork with Mushrooms from Skinnytaste

Slow-cooked Asian Pork served over rice or noodles makes a great crockpot meal.

In this recipe for Slow Cooker Asian Pork with Mushrooms from Skinnytaste, a pork sirloin roast is browned and then cooks all day in the slow cooker with chicken broth, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar,  sugar or agave, five spice powder, hot sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.  Then the pork is removed from the slow cooker and baby bella mushrooms are added to cook in the flavorful juice while the pork gets shredded apart.  When mushrooms are done, the pork is added back to the slow cooker.

The flavorful mixture of shredded pork and mushrooms is served over rice or noodles, and Gina even enjoyed the leftovers served over baby spinach.

  1. I made this yesterday - it was fantastic!!! the whole house smelled incredible too. Very easy, I didn't find chinese five spice at the store, so just tossed in some cloves and cinnamon. I made sure to brown the pork REALLY well. Then I used some of the sauce to deglaze the pan. It cooked all day and we served it over buckwheat soba noodles and garnished with scallions. It was amazing! I would make again and again!

  3. I made this one a long time ago, and it was a huge hit at my house. In fact, my husband even requested it for his birthday dinner one year!
