This recipe for Taco Chicken Bowls from Budget Bytes is definitely "Slow Cooker 101" according to Beth who writes this fabulous frugal cooking blog.  I say that economical, easy, and tasty recipes like this one are one reason so many people love their slow cookers.  You'll need to cook the rice separately when you get home, but otherwise this meal cooks all day in the CrockPot while you're out and about!

  5. I've been reading your blog only a few short months, and this is the first time I'm posting to say this recipe was awesome!!!

I marinated the chicken and made a few slight changes, 2 cans of kidney beans and about 1 1/2 cups of fresh pico de gallo. I paired it with some brown rice in my rice cooker. My husband and 3 kids (9, 4, 2) loved this. It is sooo easy and the meat falls apart. Plus, it makes awesome leftovers, or is just as good in a burrito! thanks so much for posting all these great recipes!

  6. Chantal, so glad you enjoyed it!
