Ah sweet cherries! They're one of the sure signs of summer, and like most things summer-related, they don't stay around nearly long enough. If you're lucky enough to have an abundance of summer sweet cherries, use the slow cooker to turn them into this Crock-Pot Sweet Cherry Butter from Local Kitchen. One thing I love about this recipe is you can start with whole cherries with the pits, and when the cherries are soft you strain out the pits and reduce the liquid to make the butter.
