Making granola in the slow cooker is more frugal and better for the environment than heating up the oven, and when Rachel from Coconut and Lime tried making this granola both ways, she found she preferred the Slow Cooker Almond Cherry Coconut Granola over the oven version. Making granola in the slow cooker just went on my "must-try" list! (Edit: I heard from a reader who said this burned in her slow cooker, so the recipe may not be suitable for some newer models that cook very hot. I still want to try it, but I will probably stir more often and possibly cook on low the entire time.)
