Have you heard of the cooking term panade or panada?  It was definitely new to me when I spotted this recipe for Slow Cooker Cheesy Panade with Swiss Chard, Beans, and Sausage from The Kitchn.  There it's described as "an assembly of day-old bread, shredded cheese, and handy pantry ingredients that gets doused with broth and baked until bubbly.  Not quite a soup and not quite a casserole, it's something more: the best of both worlds."  After I read that I was definitely intrigued, and this sounds like a perfect slow cooker meal to me; hope you enjoy!
