Rice is hands down my favorite side dish, and if you haven't tried making rice in the slow cooker yet, what are you waiting for?  Start this Slow Cooker Spanish Rice from Taste and Tell a few hours before dinner, and your side dish is taken care of.  And the recipe couldn't be easier; just chop the onion and green pepper, put ingredients in the slow cooker, and let it cook.

Ingredients for this recipe:
uncooked long grain rice, water, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, ground cumin, salt, tomatoes

Thanks Lydia. I'll never give up my beloved rice cooker for plain rice, but I love the slow cooker for flavored rice dishes!
