Lebanese Stewed Green Beans and Beef (Lubia) is a perfect dish to make in the slow cooker. This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free, Paleo, and it’s low-carb if you don’t serve over rice or use cauliflower rice!
I love finding international recipes that can be made in a slow cooker, and as soon as I spotted this recipe on Pinterest for Slow Cooked Lebanese Green Beans and Beef (Lubia) from The Lemon Bowl, immediately I wanted to feature it here. There aren’t any hard-to-find ingredients in this Lebanese recipe, but the traditional use of cinnamon to flavor beef (or lamb) in middle eastern cooking may be a flavor combination you’re not familiar with.
Be brave and give it a try! Liz from The Lemon Bowl says this is one of her favorite Lebanese recipes, and she made it when she had a 3 week old baby, so you know it has to be pretty easy to get into the slow cooker! Liz recommends serving with Syrian rice or brown rice. The recipe is gluten-free and if you wanted a low-carb or Paleo meal I think this would be just as delicious over Cauliflower Rice; enjoy!
