For quite a few years now I’ve been infatuated with Italian Sausage, in particular the delicious turkey or chicken Italian sausages that have become so readily available the last few years. So it’s no surprise that when I saw this recipe for Slow Cooker Italian Chili from Apron Strings, the recipe just called out to me. I love the combination of flavors here from my friend Donna, who always cooks such interesting things, and if you start this after lunch you can be eating Italian chili for dinner!
Ingredients for this recipe:
- Sweet Italian sausage (chicken or turkey)
- shallot
- minced garlic
- tomato paste
- red wine
- diced tomatoes
- vegetable stock
- dried Italian herbs
- Parmesan rind
- crushed red pepper flakes
- canned red kidney beans
- canned cannellini beans
- balsamic vinegar
- grated Parmesan and fresh parsley to garnish (optional)
