|Slow Roasted Pork from the CrockPot, served on a torta bun with pineapple salsa!|
There is no actual Kalua in this recipe for Kalua Pork Torta with Pineapple Salsa from Everyday Southwest. The name Kahlua pork refers to the Hawaiian dish of slow-roasted pork cooked inside ti lives with hot rocks. Sandy says you can use frozen ti leaves or banana leaves when you cook the pork in the slow cooker if you want to make this really authentic, but they're optional! I love everything about this recipe, especially the idea of serving it with pineapple salsa.
