There will be more Slow Cooker Thanksgiving recipes coming, but today I'm talking about this Slow Cooker Black-Eyed Pea Soup with Ham and Chicken from Gluten Free Easily. I'm a huge fan of black-eyed peas, and I'm intrigued by the idea of a soup that uses them and has both ham and chicken. (And if you happen to have some leftover turkey, I bet that would work for this soup as well.) This soup starts with dried black-eyed peas that are soaked overnight, but Shirley says fresh or frozen ones can be used too.
Ingredients for this CrockPot Recipe:
- Dried black-eyed peas (or use frozen or fresh if you prefer)
- ham bone
- cooked chicken
- chicken broth
- Italian seasoning
